The Room

The dimly lit room had become his entire world. A living space, sometimes gentle, sometimes hostile, but always surprising.

There he lived the most unlikely adventures, ever since his mind had stopped obeying him.

Sometimes, the pale blue of the walls became the sky through which he flew as an aviator in the midst of a spectacular storm.

At other times, the room became a battlefield where he confronted the armies of Genghis Khan.

And sometimes it was the engine room of a submarine engaged in a fierce battle against the forces of evil.

One summer morning, someone opened the window wide, and the penetrating light invited him to freedom.

Without a second thought, he launched himself through that long-awaited opening, toward the future.

The nurses at the psychiatric hospital saw him float out through the window, defying the laws of gravity and heading toward infinity, beyond the reach of everything and everyone.

La estancia

La estancia, poco iluminada, se había convertido en todo su mundo. Un espacio vital, a veces amable, a veces hostil, pero siempre sorprendente.

Allí vivía las aventuras más inverosímiles desde que su mente había dejado de obedecerle.

A veces, el azul pálido de las paredes se convertía en el cielo por el que volaba como aviador en medio de una espectacular tormenta.

Otras veces, la estancia se transformaba en un campo de batalla donde se enfrentaba a los ejércitos de Gengis Kan.

Y, en ocasiones, era la sala de máquinas de un submarino inmerso en una feroz batalla contra las fuerzas del mal.

Una mañana de verano, alguien abrió la ventana de par en par, y la penetrante luz lo invitó a la libertad.

Sin pensarlo, se lanzó a través de aquella ansiada abertura, hacia el futuro.

Los enfermeros del hospital psiquiátrico lo vieron salir flotando por la ventana, desafiando las leyes de la gravedad y dirigiéndose hacia el infinito, fuera del alcance de todo y de todos.
