Atoms
One day all
the atoms came together to decide what to do with human beings in the future.
"Something
has gone wrong with the creation of the human race."
Some said.
"The
problem is the big numbers. They're uncontrollable, and they're tearing the
planet apart."
Others
said.
The atoms
of the glaciers voted to make them disappear. The atoms of the seas, those of
the air, those of the earth, supported the vote.
A tiny atom
at the end of the room asked to be allowed to speak.
"We
atoms have created human beings, it is true. But we cannot destroy them. And
this is because they have gone beyond us. They have at the same time created
new atoms. The atoms of the human: sensitivity, feeling, love, compassion...
All these atoms did not exist before. They are the ones who finally make sense
of the fact that we exist all of us. This means that their destruction
would mean our destruction."
Átomos
Se reunieron un día todos los átomos para decidir qué hacer
en el futuro con los seres humanos.
-Algo ha funcionado mal con la creación de la raza humana.
Decían unos.
-El problema son los grandes números. Son incontrolables, y
están destrozando el planeta.
Decían otros.
Los átomos de los glaciares votaron por hacerlos
desaparecer. Los átomos de los mares, los del aire, los de la tierra, apoyaron la votación.
Un átomo pequeñito, situado al final de la sala pidió que se
le permitiera hablar.
-Nosotros los átomos hemos creado a los seres humanos, es
verdad. Pero no los podemos destruir. Y esto es así porque han ido más allá de
nosotros. Ellos al mismo tiempo han creado átomos nuevos. Los átomos de lo
humano: sensibilidad, sentimiento, amor, compasión… Todos estos átomos no
existían antes. Son al fin los que dan sentido a que existamos todos los demás.
Quiere esto decir que su destrucción supondría nuestra destrucción.
