High Expectations
Last year I started working in a department store as a stocker. I had recently finished my specialty in quantum electrodynamics and was very excited that I might discover, without anyone noticing, the technology behind some quantum mirrors that the company had installed on the main floor. When you stood in front of the mirror, the electromagnetic waves formed images of places where you could be at the same time as in the room. The sensation was that of these physically in the two places. I thought that using the detectron I could spy on the mirror's electroluminescent components, but that was not the case. When activating it, something went wrong and now I am behind the mirror, without knowing how to escape, and nobody notices my absence because another stocker exactly like me, created by the mirror, does my job.
Altas expectativas
El año pasado entré a trabajar en unos grandes almacenes como reponedor. Había terminado recientemente mi especialidad de electrodinámica cuántica y estaba muy ilusionado de poder llegar a descubrir, sin que nadie lo advirtiera, la tecnología que había detrás de unos espejos cuánticos que había instalado la empresa en la planta principal. Cuando te situabas delante del espejo, las ondas electromagnéticas formaban imágenes de lugares en los que podías estar al mismo tiempo que en la sala. La sensación era la de estas físicamente en los dos lugares.
Creía que utilizando el detectrón podría espiar los componentes electroluminescentes del espejo, pero no ocurrió así. Al activarlo, algo salió mal y ahora me encuentro detrás del espejo, si saber cómo escapar, y nadie se percata de mí ausencia porque otro reponedor exactamente igual que yo, creado por el espejo.,realiza mi trabajo.
