Wernher Lunia sat on the bed and tried to stand up, but at that moment the door opened. Dressed in a dressing gown, a mask and gloves, a young man entered and spoke to her in Old Norse: "Lunia, I'm Wernher, your doctor." Lunia dived into the sheets, her wide eyes staring fearfully at Werner. His face was almost hidden by the mask but his voice was pleasant. "Where I am?" Her own voice sounded strange to her, as if it belonged to someone else. "In a safe place. You have nothing to fear. I would like to help you so that your adaptation to the new situation is as traumatic as possible. You are going to see things that you could never have imagined, so I beg you not to try to understand them and accept them as they are. The people with whom you are going to interact hardly speak your language, but it is absolutely necessary that you have contact with them so that you can help us progress in the knowledge of your past.
