The Constest

He was very fond of contests. So he participated in one and won. The prize was a trip into the unknown. The destination did not matter to him, he had an enormous desire to travel. When he arrived on the day of his departure, he appeared at the address that those responsible for the contest had provided him. He waited in a gray room for a while, until a man dressed in black appeared. He told the contester to follow him. The contester took the suitcases and the man in black turned to say to him that he could leave them there, that behind his mask of a human in a black dress he was real death and that for this trip to the unknown he did not need luggage.

Today I have verified what I had been intuiting for a long time. Light does not propagate in a vacuum. It's instant. The first attempts to measure the speed of light, Roemer's experiments in 1676, when measuring eclipses of Jupiter's moon Io, did not take into account that space is not empty. The same happened with the Michelson-Morley experiment, in which the non-existence of the ether was demonstrated. If they had carried out the experiment in a space filled with water, simulating the movement of the Earth, they would have obtained the same result. The problem is that the experiment cannot detect something that is undetectable: movement. Or put another way, light ignores what we understand by movement. For light, movement does not exist.

As the spacecraft approached Saturn, onboard instruments detected the presence of thoughts created by someone outside of the crew. Thoughts that were subtly transformed into concrete actions. The commander interpreted that those thoughts came from the hole. An idea that, like in The Odyssey, in which the sirens tried to convince Ulysses to lead him to a fatal destination, they tried to convince the crew to approach the hole. The event catcher system detected the way in which thoughts acted on certain crew members to promote a mutiny.
