Memories
When I went to live on Earth, I was surprised that only one
star illuminated its firmament. I think that was the first lasting impression
that remained in my mind for several days. I am from the planet Ast, which
rotates following an orbit with
eight-shape around two stars and has a variable rotational motion on its axis.
That makes the cycles of light and darkness not resemble those of Earth.
When my ancestors went to colonize it, they found deserts
and fertile zones, there was no trace of animal life. There were some types of
trees and bushes. A long time has passed since then. Anyway, there must had
been one or several advanced civilizations, because in the excavations that
were carried out shortly after arriving on the planet, vestiges of
constructions were found as well as skeletons of animals that by their
morphology seemed to have been able to walk upright.

Cuando fui a vivir a la Tierra, me sorprendió que solo una
estrella iluminara su firmamento. Creo que esa fue la primera impresión
duradera que permaneció en mi mente durante varios días. Yo procedo del planeta
Ast, que gira siguiendo una órbita en forma de ocho alrededor de dos estrellas
y tiene un movimiento variable de rotación sobre su eje. Eso hace que los
ciclos de luz y oscuridad no se parezcan a los de la Tierra.
Cuando mis antecesores fueron a colonizarla, se encontraron
con desiertos y zonas fértiles, no había rastro de vida animal. Sí existían
algunos tipos de especies de árboles y matorrales. De eso ha transcurrido ya
mucho tiempo. De cualquier forma, debió existir una o varias civilizaciones
avanzadas, porque en las excavaciones que se llevaron a cabo poco después de
llegar al planeta, se encontraron vestigios de construcciones así como esqueletos
de animales que por su morfología parece que hubieran podido caminar erguidos.
