The Lake of Time - El lago del tiempo

  The Lake of Time Last night, a shard of black space came to visit me. At dawn, a stranger brought me to the Lake of Time. I walk to its shore. I lower my hands into its crystal-clear waters. Cupping them, I desperately try to hold on to the drops of time. But the moments slip through my fingers, falling swiftly, as though longing to disappear among the roots of the earth. Now all my time has been reduced to five minutes. The only five that remain trapped within the hollow of my palms. Five final minutes. Far too little time to tell you everything. To tell you once more how deeply I love you. You, who gave birth to my time. You, who walked beside me through this long journey, with the patience and the love that only someone who has given birth can offer. The Lake of Time separated us. Fatal Blow - Golpe fatal

  Fatal Blow One... two... three... The bells of the tower began to toll the final moments of the year. The medieval square lay deserted, dimly lit by only four flickering torches. Imprisoned by the pandemic, the villagers wandered through imaginary worlds in search of something that might restore their hope. Just before the final bell rang, the abbot raised his eyes to the heavens and prayed for a divine sign that would bring the plague to an end. A tiny light appeared in the distance. Slowly, it drifted closer. It was no larger than the abbot's Book of Hours . The small metallic sphere slowed to a halt only inches from his astonished face. Then a voice spoke in flawless ancient Latin. "Do not be afraid. I bring Heaven's gift. Let everyone drink from this water. It will never run dry." The abbot's face hardened. Certain that he stood before one of Lucifer's temptations, he gathered all his courage and struck the strange object with a single, decisive blow. ...
