Squeezing The Soul
The morning ate his mood. She was defeated. The afternoon
was more condescending but even so she did not make foot, she did not was
finding anything to lean on to propel herself and get out of that hell. The
doctor who visited her in the hospital was kind enough to tell her that for the
rest of her life she would have to use a wheelchair.
She had always been alone. She had not needed anyone. Now,
she didn't know what her life could become. That's what I was thinking about
when the door to the room opened and someone came in with a dog. That someone
was her brother and the dog was a German shepherd's puppy.
After fifteen years with that dog, it was time to say
goodbye to him. He had taught him to love, to take care of him and to talk to
him every day. He was accompany her when she was going out with her
wheelchair and defended her from any intruder. He had given her life, and now
he was leaving. Then she got up from the chair and hugged him, tightly. With
such force that he squeezed out his soul and she kept it forever. And he never
needed to use the chair anymore.
Exprimir el alma
La mañana se comió su ánimo. Estaba derrotada. La tarde fue
más condescendiente pero aun así no hacía pie, no encontraba nada en qué
apoyarse para impulsarse y salir de aquel infierno. El médico que la visitó en
el hospital fue muy amable al decirle que durante el resto de su vida tendría
que usar una silla de ruedas.
Ella siempre había estado sola. No había necesitado a nadie.
Ahora, no sabía en lo que podría convertirse su vida. En eso estaba pensando,
cuando se abrió la puerta de la habitación y entró alguien con un perro. Ese alguien
era su hermano y el perro era un cachorro de pastor alemán.
Después de quince años con aquel perro, había llegado el
momento de despedirse de él. Le había enseñado a querer, a cuidarle y a
hablarle cada día. Le acompañaba cuando salía con su silla de ruedas y la
defendía de cualquier intruso. Le había dado la vida, y ahora se iba. Entonces se
levantó de la silla y lo abrazó, con fuerza. Con tanta fuerza que exprimió su
alma y se la quedó para siempre. Y ya nunca necesitó utilizar la silla.
