Nuevos mundos
Fue una decisión impulsiva lo que llevó a dar un inesperado giro
a su futuro. Tenía una vida regalada, una familia, dos perros rottweiler y una
empresa de robots que le proporcionaba grandes beneficios. Sin embargo le
faltaba algo.
Una mañana se vistió con su mejor traje, sacó su Mercedes
último modelo del garaje y se marchó sin despedirse de nadie. Su desaparición
causó un gran revuelo, pero ni la policía pudo saber qué había ocurrido con él,
ni nadie pudo saber lo que le había podido ocurrir.
Conducía rápido por la autopista de la playa cuando alguien
le hizo señas para que parara. Era una chica morena, delgada y no llevaba
equipaje. Se detuvo y la chica subió al coche.
-Hola. Muchas gracias por llevarme. ¿Eres John Atkins?
John no se podía explicar porqué aquella mujer sabía cómo se
llamaba.
-¿Cómo sabes mi nombre?
- Sé tantas cosas de ti que te asombrarías. Nunca creerías
que estás aquí por mí, pero es así.
John no podía creer lo que estaba oyendo.
- Nunca has sabido porqué te decidiste a abandonar tu hogar.
Yo te lo diré. En tus noches de pesadillas yo estaba presente para convencerte
de que tenías que empezar una nueva vida. Este juego duró muchas noches, hasta
que tus defensas se vinieron abajo.
- Pero ¿quién eres?
- Digamos que alguien que te quiere y que puede decidir
sobre tu futuro. Realmente soy tu futuro que ha venido a hacerte una visita.
- Esto no puede ser real.
- Desde luego que sí. Y te voy a proporcionar lo que
necesitas para saber lo que vas a vivir en los próximos años. Tu vida fácil,
cómoda y sin ninguna privación es el resultado de otras vidas tristes y pobres,
vidas rotas, vidas amargas. Porque la ley de los hombres es injusta por
naturaleza y crea las desigualdades en las que vivimos. Por eso tienes que
cambiar, tienes que dedicarte a los demás. Los demás son el destino.
John se despertó bruscamente pensando que todo lo que acababa
de ocurrir había sido algo real. Pero estaba en casa y oía la voz de su mujer
llamándolo para desayunar. Ese día iba a ser un día distinto, el primer día de
una nueva vida.
New Worlds
It was an
impulsive decision that led him to an unexpected turn to his future. He had an
easy life, a family, two rottweiler dogs and a robot company that provided him
with great benefits. But something was missing.
One morning
he dressed in his best suit, took his Mercedes last model from the garage and
left without saying goodbye to anyone. His disappearance caused a big stir, but
the police did not discovered what had happened to him, and no one could know
what had happened to him.
He was
driving fast on the freeway on the beach when someone beckoned him to stop. She
was a thin girl with dark hair, with no luggage. He stopped and the girl got
into the car.
"Hello.
Thank you very much for taking me. Are you John Atkins?"
John could
not explain why that woman knew his name.
"How do you
know my name?"
-"I know so
many things about you that you would be astonished. You would never believe
that you are here because of me, but it is so."
John could
not believe what he was hearing.
"You never
knew why you decided to leave your home. I'll tell you why . On your nights of
nightmares I was present to convince you that you had to start a new life. This
game lasted many nights, until your defenses collapsed."
"But, who
are you?"
"Let's say I am someone who loves you and who can decide on your future. I am really your
future who has come to pay you a visit."
"This cannot be real."
"Of course
it is real. And I'll give you what you need to know what you're going to live
in for years to come. Your life easy, comfortable and without any deprivation
is the result of other sad and poor lives, broken lives, bitter lives. Because
the law of men is unjust by nature and creates inequalities in which we live.
That's why you have to change, you have to dedicate yourself to others. They are
your destiny."
John woke
abruptly thinking that everything he had lived had been something real. But he
was at home and he heard his wife calling for breakfast. That day was going to
be a different day, the first day of a new life.
