Iridescent
liquid
The storm
had flooded the streets of the big city. In a police inspection of the area of
the robbery, the box in which the small beings had been living appeared open,
flooded with water and with no trace of them.
Kathy asked
the police to return the box. Thinking of the little beings, she returned home
with almost the same sadness as those who lose their children.
When she
opened the box she noticed that, after had dried it, the bottom emitted a faint
iridescence, and it moistened again after a few moments. It was not water, but
a somewhat viscous liquid which slowly spread across the surface of the bottom
of the box and strangely up the inner walls to the edges of the box, spilling
out and finally falling to the ground.
El líquido iridiscente
La tormenta había inundado las calles de la gran ciudad. En una
inspección de la policía por la zona del atraco, la caja en la que habían vivido
los pequeños seres apareció abierta, inundada de agua y sin rastro de ellos.
Katy le pidió a la policía que le devolviera la caja. Pensando
en los pequeños seres, volvió a su casa casi con la misma tristeza de quien
pierde a sus hijos.
Al abrir la caja observó que, después de haberla secado, el
fondo emitía una débil iridiscencia, y volvía a humedecerse después de unos
instantes. No se trataba de agua, sino de un líquido algo viscoso que iba
extendiéndose lentamente por la superficie del fondo de la caja y extrañamente
subía por las paredes interiores hasta llegar a los bordes de la caja,
derramándose y finalmente cayendo al suelo.
