Sigismund - Segismundo

Sigismund The stained-glass windows of the cathedral projected vivid colours on the tombstone where the body of the noble Sigismund rested. He had fought for years against the tribes that wanted to enter through the northern border of Iberia. In the last raid, an arrow penetrated in his back and ended his life. That morning a mass was being celebrate for his soul. The moment the priest lifted the chalice, the iridescent colors that caressed the immaculate slab turned a deep red and took the form of a hand. The accusing hand pointed at the author of his death, Count Romualdo, his lieutenant on the battlefield. In his precipitated escape, Romualdo stepped on the tombstone of Sigismund, and the red hand stopped his escape wrapping Romualdo's neck. Moments later, Romuald lay lifeless on the tombstone of Sigismund.
