Thaw 1. The Rope
Burke stepped through the bubble and as his arms and legs, his head and then the rest of his body passed through it they disappeared from view. Once inside, a long time later, he would explain to us that what we saw from the outside was a huge trompe l'oeil and that in reality the city was something very different from what we could see from the outside.
What appeared to be the end of a rope appeared behind that impenetrable barrier. It moved like a snake but had all the appearance of a linen rope. He moved towards us very slowly and circled us.
Deshielo 1. La cuerda
Burke penetró a través de la burbuja y a medida
que sus brazos y piernas, su cabeza y luego el resto de su cuerpo la

Lo que parecía ser el extremo de una cuerda
apareció tras aquella barrera impenetrable. Se movía como una serpiente pero
tenía toda la apariencia de una cuerda de lino. Avanzó hacia nosotros muy
despacio y nos rodeó.
