Entalpía
Caos, eso fue lo que me encontré en la empresa cuando volví
de un viaje de trabajo. Las secretarias estaban en huelga de brazos caídos, los
vendedores prácticamente habían abandonado sus obligaciones, los consejeros y
mandos habían sucumbido a la desesperación y la cadena de producción había
bajado su rendimiento en más de un cincuenta por ciento.
Mis instrucciones fueron claras antes de partir para el
viaje de dos semanas a Extremo Oriente: ‘Todo debería permanecer inalterado,
independientemente de cual fuera el resultado del proceso soberanista’. Somos
una empresa internacional y muchos de nuestros clientes están repartidos por
todo el mundo.
Pero la realidad había superado todas las expectativas. Con
el proceso soberanista los pedidos empezaron a llegar por miles, desde todos
los puntos del país y también del extranjero. Al mismo tiempo, una procesión de
empresas había empezado a cambiar su sede social a otros lugares del país buscando
mayor seguridad jurídica, huyendo de la incertidumbre sobre el futuro que
estaba ocasionando la situación.
En nuestra empresa, los pedidos se habían multiplicado por
mil y nosotros no estábamos dando respuesta a tanta demanda. Tuve que poner
todo patas arriba. Hacer que la cadena de producción se pusiera en marcha a
toda velocidad, reprender a las secretarias y al mismo tiempo darles ánimos, y
hablar con convicción a los mandos para infundirles esperanza. En unas horas
todo cambió. Cada una de las personas de la empresa se comprometió con la idea
de ayudar para cumplir con los compromisos asumidos con los clientes.
No les he dicho a qué se dedica mi empresa. Fabricamos
sueños, y los pedidos estaban muy claros: Conseguir que vivamos en paz y
concordia entre todos, porque juntos somos mejores.

that's what I found in the company when I got back from a work trip. The
secretaries were on a sit-down strike, the salesmen had practically abandoned
their duties, the counselors and commanders had succumbed to despair, and the
production line had dropped its performance by more than fifty percent.
I announced
clearly my instructions before I left for the two-week trip to the Far East: “Everything
should remain unchanged, no matter what the outcome of the sovereignist
process.” We are an international company and many of our clients are spread
all over the world.
But reality
had surpassed all expectations. With the sovereignist process the purchase
orders began to arrive for thousands, from all the points of the country and
also from abroad. At the same time, a procession of companies began to change
the headquarters to other parts of the country looking for greater legal
security, fleeing uncertainty about the future that the situation was causing.
In our
company, purchase orders had multiplied by a thousand and we were not
responding to so much demand. I had to put order in everything. Make the
production chain went at full speed, reprimand the secretaries and at the same
time giving them encouragement, and speak with conviction to the managers to
give them hope. In some hours everything changed. Each one of the people of the
company was committed to the idea of helping to fulfill the commitments assumed
with the clients.
I have not
told you what my business is. We make dreams, and the purchase orders were very
clear: Getting to live in peace and harmony among all, because together we are
better.
