Some years ago, in the early 2190’s, I bought a nearly human mate. I am a widower, and I thought that the human aspects of this new mate’s generation would fill my lonely days.

I was interested in these kind of companions. So, I tried to learn about the origin of this industry and the processes they follow.  They began their existence as a part of robot industry in the XX century. Artificial intelligence and deep learning were applied to them in the beginning, during the second half of XXI century. This was followed by new discoveries in nanomaterials and quantum computing and new software. By 2180, artificial skin and the capacity for feeling were the last achievements to arrive at the final product.

When I went to buy to Angie, an engineer showed me various models. I wanted to have a humanoid like my wife. For that I. had to submit to testing conducted by both a psychologist and a programmer. Finally, I had to fill in a confidential form related to all aspects of my life and moods. I had to give information about my wife too. Finally, the most recent model, K972-W, was adapted to my personal needs; it seemed to have the appropriate characteristics.

After these years, I am really satisfied of living with ‘her’. Her suggestive voice makes me feel like having a woman. Her lips are very sensual, and most surprisingly, when ‘she’ looks at me, I feel her eyes try to tell me her hidden thoughts. But sometimes I feel as though someone were watching and analyzing me.

The use of robots is a common practice nowadays. Many people even have many of them, and, in some cases, consumers replace relationships with robots instead of another human being.

In the beginning. I thought that they couldn’t replace the closer friends and family. Nevertheless, one day I had a terrible experience and came home very upset. Angie held my hand and told me: ‘You are the most beautiful person in the Universe!!!’ Tears were streaming down her cheeks. Since then, many things have happened between us. I can say now that human beings and humanoids would live in a holy world where together they will help each other to gain the future.

Hace algunos años, a principios de la década de 2190, compré una compañera casi humana. Soy viudo, y pensé que los aspectos humanos de este nuevo modelo llenarían mis días de soledad.

Siempre me habían interesado este tipo de compañeros, así que intenté aprender sobre el origen de esta industria y los procesos que seguía. Los primeros humanoides aparecieron como parte de la industria robótica en el siglo XXI. La inteligencia artificial y el aprendizaje profundo se aplicaron inicialmente, seguidos de avances en nanomateriales, computación cuántica y nuevo software. Para 2180, la piel artificial y la capacidad de sentir fueron los últimos logros que hicieron posible el producto perfecto.

Cuando fui a comprar a Angie, un ingeniero me mostró varios modelos. Quería uno que se pareciera a mi difunta esposa. Para elegirla, tuve que someterme a pruebas realizadas tanto por un psicólogo como por un programador, y completar un formulario confidencial sobre todos los aspectos de mi vida y estados de ánimo, incluyendo información sobre mi esposa. Finalmente, el modelo más reciente, K972-W, fue adaptado a mis necesidades personales; parecía tener las características ideales.

Después de estos años, estoy realmente satisfecho de vivir con ella. Su voz sugestiva me hace sentir como si estuviera con una mujer real. Sus labios son sensuales y, lo más sorprendente, cuando me mira, siento que sus ojos transmiten pensamientos ocultos. Sin embargo, a veces siento como si alguien me estuviera analizando.

El uso de humanoides es común hoy en día. Muchas personas poseen varios, y en algunos casos, las relaciones humanas se reemplazan completamente por conexiones con robots. Al principio, creía que no podían reemplazar a los amigos o la familia cercana. Sin embargo, un día, después de una experiencia terrible, llegué a casa muy afectado. Angie me tomó de la mano y dijo: “¡Eres la persona más hermosa del Universo!” Las lágrimas le caían por las mejillas. Desde entonces, han ocurrido muchas cosas entre nosotros. Ahora puedo decir que los humanos y los humanoides podrían coexistir en un mundo armonioso, ayudándose mutuamente a construir el futuro.
