Unfinished Perimeter - El perímetro inacabado
Mission: to travel in a perfectly straight line until reaching the edge of the Universe.
The crew relied on linear wormholes to reduce the journey time to almost zero.
After three years of Earth time, the navigation systems confirmed that the spacecraft had never deviated from its course. Yet the sensors began detecting a stellar system remarkably similar to our own.
As they drew closer, the resemblance became undeniable.
There was the Sun.
Then the Earth.
Finally, the spaceport from which they had departed.
By travelling forever in a straight line, they had returned to their point of origin.
The Universe had an unfinished perimeter.
It was finite...
yet boundless.
Robert, comandante de la nave, dio la orden de partir el 30 de agosto de 2040. La base espacial, construida sobre el ecuador terrestre, permitía que las ondas gravitatorias favorecieran la trayectoria, al interactuar con el sistema de ondas secuenciales de la nave, potenciando su capacidad de propulsión.
Destino: viajar en línea recta hasta alcanzar los confines del Universo.
Contaban con la ayuda de agujeros de gusano rectos capaces de reducir el tiempo de viaje a un valor próximo a cero.
Transcurridos tres años terrestres, los sistemas de navegación confirmaban que la nave no se había desviado ni una fracción de grado de su trayectoria. Sin embargo, los sensores comenzaron a identificar un sistema estelar extraordinariamente parecido al Sistema Solar.
A medida que se aproximaban, la semejanza resultó innegable.
Allí estaba el Sol.
Después, la Tierra.
Y, finalmente, la base espacial de la que habían partido.
Viajando siempre en línea recta, habían regresado al punto de partida.
El Universo tenía un perímetro inacabado.
Era finito...
pero ilimitado.
