 The Revenge of the Gardens

The gardens, abstracted from everything that was not their own beauty, fed on the feelings of their visitors, extracted all their energy to finally leave them inert on the ground. Thus the centuries passed until Cyrus the Great decided to invade Babylon, enter his capital, Babylon, and visit the gardens. Ciro, faced with that indescribable beauty, stayed speechless and for an instant lost his sense of reality, while the gardens prepared their own revenge from him. When Ciro woke up, a security guard stopped him, put him in the car and took him to the police station for being inappropriately dressed and disturbing public order. The gardens had banished him in time to the twenty-first century.

Los jardines abstraídos de todo lo que no fuera su propia belleza, se alimentaban de los sentimientos de sus visitantes, les extraía toda su energía para finalmente dejarlos inertes en el suelo. Así fueron pasando los siglos en Babilonia hasta que Ciro el Grande decidió invadir Babilonia, entrar en su capital, Babilonia, y visitar los jardines. Ciro, ante aquella indescriptible belleza, enmudeció y por un instante perdió el sentido de la realidad., mientras que los jardines preparaban su propia venganza. Cuando Ciro despertó, un guardia de seguridad lo detuvo lo introdujo en el coche y lo llevó a la comisaría por ir vestido de forma inadecuada y por alterar el orden público. Los jardines lo habían desterrado en el tiempo al siglo XXI.

 Flight 675-AH

The aircraft in which I have been travelling on an intercontinental flight from Madrid to Cape Town has just landed. I am the only return passenger. When we took off from the airport there was no seat free. Approximately two hours into the flight and at a height of eleven thousand feet The aircraft began to lose speed but maintained its altitude, so that after a few minutes the aircraft stopped suspended in the air. The stewardess indicated over the loudspeakers that the cabin was being depressurized and that the oxygen masks would be deployed. Through the window I could see what looked like a huge lenticular cloud. When the masks fell, I was the only one to put them on. The other passengers got up from their seats and proceeded to the exit in an orderly manner. Then, from the lenticular cloud, a kind of walkway emerged that extended to the door of the aircraft. Each of the passengers got out and headed for the cloud through the walkway. When everyone had disembarked, the walkway contracted until it disappeared behind the cloud. The stewardess closed the door of the aircraft and we continued the flight to our destination. Aliens? UFO?I still wonder if I booked the wrong flight.

Vuelo 675-AH

Acaba de aterrizar el avión en el que he viajado en un vuelo intercontinental de Madrid a Ciudad del Cabo. Soy el único pasajero de vuelta. Cuando despegamos del aeropuerto el pasaje estaba completo. Aproximadamente a las dos horas de iniciar el vuelo y a una altura de once mil pies??? la aeronave empezó a perder velocidad peto mantuvo la altitud, de forma que transcurridos unos minutos el avión se detuvo suspendido en el aire. La azafata indicó por los altavoces que se procedía a despresurizat la cabina y que se desplegarían las mascarillas de oxígeno. Por la ventanilla se podía ver lo que parecía una enorme nube lenticular. Cuando cayeron las mascarillas yo fui el único que se la puso. Los demás pasajeros se levantaron de sus asientos y ordenadamente se dirigieron a la salida. Entonces, de la nube lenticular salió una especie de pasarela que se extendió hasta la puerta del avión. Cada uno de los pasajeros salió y se dirigió a la nube a través de la pasarela. Cuando todos habían desembarcado, la pasarela se contrajo hasta desaparecer tras la nube. La azafata cerró la puerta del avión y continuamos el vuelo hasta nuestro destino. ¿Alienígenas? ¿Ovnis?Todavía me pregunto si contraté el vuelo equivocado.

 Vibrations

Two old friends, one of them an inhabitant of a hydrogen atom in a water molecule, and the other a being from the Andromeda galaxy, met at the midpoint of the universe to chat about the future. One of them commented: the only difference between a galaxy and an atom is size. For example, we are very similar. For eons we have met for taking beers and our points of view are very similar. The other added: it has always been like this. I remember that even before the universe was created, everything was a question of vibrations. In the case of humans, the waves materialize in bodies of flesh and blood. Souls peer into the world through the bodies that occupy the interstices of nothingness. And they think that light has the secret of relativity. However they do not know that the center of the universe is each one of them and that is why they cannot find the center.

Vibraciones

Dos viejos amigos, uno de ellos habitante de un átomo de hidrógeno de una molécula de agua, y el otro un ser de la galaxia de Andromeda, se citaron en el punto medio del universo para charlar sobre el futuro. 
Uno de ellos comentó: la única diferencia entre una galaxia y un átomo es el tamaño. Nosotros por ejemplo, somos muy parecidos. Durante eones hemos quedado a tomar cervezas y nuestros puntos de vista son comunes. 
El otro añadió: siempre ha sido así. Yo recuerdo que incluso antes de crearse el universo, todo era cuestión de vibraciones. 
En el caso de los humanos, las ondas se materializan en cuerpos de carne y hueso. Las almas se asoman al mundo a través de los cuerpos que ocupan los intersticios de la nada. Y piensan que la luz tiene el secreto de la relatividad. Sin embargo no saben que el centro del universo es cada uno de ellos y por eso no pueden encontrar el centro

The woman wouldn't stop crying and, after crying for a while, I also hung up the phone.

El gran colisionador de hadrones

El gran colisionado de partículas ha estallado, dividiendo el globo terráqueo en dos mitades iguales, girando entre ellas y dejando al descubierto las entrañas de la Tierra. Llamamos a urgencias para que alguien viniera a casa a salvarnos la vida. Una voz de mujer contestó a la llamada. Su voz se quebró al contestar. Ellos necesitaban más ayuda que nosotros. Las ambulancias se habían marchado y las   luces de los hospitales habían decidido abandonarlos. Mi interlocutora rompió a llorar y le dije que iríamos a ayudarles. Que le llevaríamos un paquete grande de luz que teníamos en la despensa y que les dejaríamos nuestro coche. La mujer no dejaba de llorar y, después de llorar un rato yo también, colgué el teléfono.
